It's a beautiful morning in the land of Paozu. Months have gone by since the battle with Majin Boo, and Earth has gone back to peace. And the heroes who made that peace possible are gathering today in Metro West, to eat delicious barbeque together. Too bad their mom is making them dress up for the occasion.
Gohan, Goten, and Chichi are dressed their best, but after getting his clothes on, Goku ran off into the mountains to check on some dinosaur eggs he's been watching, certain they'll hatch today. Chichi is, naturally, annoyed with her careless husband.
(Here, we see the wild Son Goku in his natural habitat, awaiting the birth of his latest brood.)
Goku notices one of the eggs has fallen onto a branch, so he goes to retrieve it.
... But the ma and pa dinos don't like that one bit.
So Goku puts it back.
... and passively waits for it to hatch, too worried the baby will fall to go home yet.
Tired of waiting on her husband, Chichi and the boys head off for Metro West without him.
While Goku wrestles a snake.

At Capsule Corp., friends of the Brief family begin to arrive for Bulma's barbeque. Trunks politely greets them at the door, already showing a level of well-adjusted-ness neither of his parents ever display. (He takes after Gramps, surely.)
(Er, not that one.)
First Kuririn, #18, and Marron arrive.
... and then a crazy person nearly drives their car into the building.
That crazy person is Yamcha. (He should let Puar drive.)
And he has a sweet new top-of-the-line Capsule car... thanks to Bulma giving it to him cheap.
(Baseball career not paying off, buddy?)
And thirdly, the Sons arrive... minus Goku.
The BBQ itself is held in one of Capsule Corp's many green houses.
Videl gets some Kabob.
Tenshinhan shares a pizza with Kuririn.
Muten Roshi and Yamcha giggle over old photos, while Oolong drinks.
Mr. Boo eats them out of house and home.
Vegeta has a romantic picnic all to himself.
Out of food, Boo tries to join Vegeta...
... and Vegeta is always willing to share with his pal, Boo!

Mr. Satan and Umigame relax over some bubbly.
Puar, Chaozu, and Dende max-and-relax with them.
While Gohan and Videl try to find some bushes to make out behind...
... only to find they're populated with Piccolo.
("I may be a genderless slug person, but congrats on gettin' it wet, son.")
Back at Paozu, Goku watches wistfully as the ma and pa dino prepare for their babies.
It takes him back to his own parent, his Gramps, Son Gohan.
"Gramps was strict... but really kind."
Later, Goku has to move a fight between two dinos somewhere else.
(He even resumes the 'match' like a referee would.)

Back at Capsule Corp., everyone is having some kind of brightly colored dance party.
But they're mostly shimmying.
18 nudges Gohan onto the floor with Videl...
... forcing him to awkwardly dance with his lady. (18 is a bro.)
Then Chichi stomps the proverbial yard with her sweet kung fu moves.
Bulma begins to wonder where Goku could be, and Chichi accuses her of having a crush on him. She goes so far as to say she better give it up, as she's prettier than Bulma. Yamcha agrees she's very pretty today, and Chichi gets a big laugh by pointing out that must mean she isn't usually pretty. As for what Goku is actually doing...
He and some cousins are watching over the dino eggs.
And some tigers and bears came to watch too, since Paozu works on Lion King logic.
Just then a terrible storm brews...
So Goku fells some trees with his bare hands...
(Take that, Canada. You ain't got shit on Japanese lumberjacks.)
... and creates a Super Nest for ma dino and her babies.
Goku tries to help pa dino with the stray egg but...
In the end, Goku has to play Jonah and the Whale to save it.
(I wonder if Pinocchio got out in time.)
The cute baby dinos are born,
and ma and pa dino couldn't be prouder.

At length, as everyone at Capsule Corp. is preparing to leave for the evening, Goku finally arrives to the party.
Goku is certain Chichi is going to yell at him...
... but instead, she offers to prepare him some dinner.
With Goku there, the party continues on a little longer.
Even Vegeta smiles at the sunset...
... perhaps proud of this silly world he helped save.
"Just by being there, everything around Goku is livelier. Just by him being there, everyone has more fun. Sure enough, you are Number One, Son Goku!"
"Ain't I a stinker?"
