Oh hey, Obvious Christ Symbolism. It's been awhile.
Thanks to Bulma's Insta-Bruits Waves, Baby has recovered all of his strength. And thanks to weird plot contrivances, Goku has not. Their big "fight scene" of this episode goes something like this.
Riveting stuff.
Watching her Granddad get pummeled to death by a vicious gorilla causes Pan to lose her shit in the special way only Saiyans do. She starts to tear up and scream in that incoherent way all our other protagonists did when they went Super Saiyan the first time (excluding Goten, I suppose), but like the last time this happened, she just forms massive ki blasts and attacks with those instead. (Fuck you, Toei.)
It doesn't work out.
But suddenly, Trunks has returned! His body and mind recovered and fully healed, the 20-something Super Saiyan Prince burns with rage as his friends and space comrades are in danger. He flies off toward Baby to strike his own blow...!!
It doesn't work out.
Gohan and Goten are brought next to the field by Kibitoshin! Gohan catches Trunks and they land beside Goku. Fully recovered, the remaining fighters are all the stand between Baby and the universe. If they go at him as one, with everything they have, maybe, just maybe, they can win.
Goten and Trunks are even ready to perform Fusion!!
It doesn't work out.
Goku says the best strategy would be to give all their Super Saiya Power to him, as they had done to Baby before, so that he can be a fully powered SSJ4 once again. Because it's his fucking show and what he says goes, boys. Baby thinks it's a pretty good plan (since it's, well, his), but refuses to sit by while they enact it.
But in one more desperate bid to be as cool as early DBZ, Goku uses the Taiyoken to blind Baby.
The boys start to give their power over to Goku, but they aren't quick enough. Baby leaps into the air, and once more begins to charge Vegeta's Super Gallic Ho (okay dude you've for sure used that attack way more times than Vegeta ever did).
It doesn't work out.
Suddenly, Oob is attacking Baby from the inside. Furthermore, he calls Baby stupid for falling for the obvious trap of eating strange chocolate up off the ground. (Ew.)
Because Oob is the fucking best.
Pan, Goten, Trunks, and Gohan pass their Saiya Power over to Goku.
(Guys, again, if you're trying to go God, you need to wake up Bra.)
While Oob is 'Akira'-referenced out of Baby's body.
(Second Akira reference in GT. Hey, it was the '90s.)
Baby spits him out,
then fires his Super Gallic Ho at our heroes!!
Thinking his precious Pan-chan was killed, Mr. Satan steps forward to challenge Baby!
However, thanks to Goku, Pan is safe and sound!
("Thanks for helping us too, dick.")
At length, the final battle has come upon us.
And Goku is back.
And who will draw this epic conclusion?
Goddammit, GT.
