Top Dragon Ball GT ep 15 - I'm Going Astray! Pan Runs Away?! by Top Blogger
Our episode opens with the GTang flying through space toward the next Black Star Dragon Ball. Pan is trying to cook dinner when Giru comes over and examines the nutritional content. Pan finds that about as helpful as the above screencap suggests. But while she's beating on Giru (her usual pastime), she hears something curious coming from the cockpit.
Trunks is trying to convince Goku to head back to Earth to drop off Pan, and pick up Goten to help them gather the rest of the Dragon Balls, since now they have a truly dangerous foe in Dr. Myuu to deal with.
"That's going too far! You think so too, right, Grandpa?"
"I don't care either way."
[Gangsta Rap plays in the distance]
That night, Pan finds it hard to get over how upset she is by how easily Trunks and Goku could brush her off, especially after all they've been through. Giru hears her sniffling and brings her a handkerchief, but flinches as she begins to retaliate as usual, but then lowers her hand as she realizes beating on Giru won't solve all her problems. (Wait, is GT about to have... character development?!)
Giru then blurts out that they're nearly at the next Dragon Ball, which immediately cheers up Pan as it means her trip back to Earth will be delayed, at least, for now.
Our heroes land on the desert world of Kahra.
... only to find it's too damn hot.
Our heroes make to go back inside due to the extreme heat, but they're suddenly set upon by a giant sandworm!
Goku and Trunks manage to scare it off,
as Pan gets covered in dirt,
and Boba Fett falls in the Sarlacc pit.
But the ship is damaged from the attack, prompting the boys to take their shirts off.
Anime Tiddies.
Trunks makes repairs on the ship while Goku watches out for, and beats the crap out of, more sandworms. Pan tries to help, but like in episode two with her parents, Pan is told to find somewhere else to "play".
Tired of being treated as an unequal member of the GTang, Pan runs away.
And for some reason, the heat of Kahra's suns make it impossible for her to fly for long.
(She flew around Earth on the regular as a tiny baby but w/e GT.)
Which is really the episode writer's excuse for her to be attacked by a sandworm.
Pan manages to defend herself from its Sand Attack,
... but it succeeds in slowing her down.
She thinks of her Mama, Papa, and Grandpa Satan as she feels like she is going to die...
When suddenly, Giru arrives!!!
And actually kills the fuck out of the sandworm.
(Um. Good job, little guy. Was not expecting that.)
Giru shows Pan he found both a nearby oasis and the 5-star-ball, and Pan wraps him up in a big hug and cries as she apologizes for ever being a dick to him. Now as true friends (for my One Piece fans, Giru says "Pan, Nakama!!" as he's rescuing her. Awww.) the pair await Goku and Trunks' impending arrival.
"Pan, you flaunted all the rules, put yourself and all of us in serious danger, risking the end of the Planet Earth itself."
"Fifty points to Gryffindor!"
With all of them cemented further as comrades-in-arms, Goku, Trunks, Pan, and Giru take a well-earned break at the Kahra oasis before moving on to the next Dragon Ball. Three down, four to go.
Meanwhile, a familiar greasy Otaku, Dolltacki, makes his way to Dr. Myuu's homeworld of Planet M2.
He says how he'll use his superior eloquent speech (ugh, he's only missing a fedora) to win over the kids who destroyed Lood, and use them as the replacement for the dead mutant.
But it isn't Myuu who he is reporting to, much to his chagrin.
"You're the same master of empty speech as you ever were, Dolltacki... I have a message from Dr. Myuu."
And in a flash of ki, Dolltacki is killed.
