Story
Time marches ever onward for Gohan and his friends...
Little Trunks takes his first steps.
Mr. Satan becomes more famous than ever.
Kuririn has a hot new girlfriend.
And Kaio-sama builds a new place for him, Bubbles, Gregory, and Goku to live.
... which Goku accidentally breaks immediately.
(Oops.)
Fed up, Kaio-sama takes Goku to the Grand Kaio-sama's world...
... where the other Kaio laugh at him for being dead.
Oh, and Goku fights and beats a guy who took out Cell in one hit.
(Okay.)
Twenty years into the future, Trunks returns. Metro West is still in utter ruin, but thanks to his training with Vegeta in the past, Trunks finally has the strength to free the future from Gero's Artificial Humans.
But first, he goes to see his mom.
"And it turns out, when I died against Cell, my dad went into a blind grief rage against Cell!"
"... Uhm... Yeah! Of course he did!"
"Your father always loved you. Did I not tell you that? I'm sure I told you that."
'... he was probably more mad about Son-kun dying...'
Suddenly, their conversation is interrupted by a news bulletin about an Artificial Human attack.
Finally, Trunks can avenge his fallen master, Son Gohan!
(But if you're just watching Kai, you have no idea how close Trunks was with Gohan in both the manga and the DBZ anime. So. Good lookin' out, Kai.)
Elsewhere, Trunks' timeline #17 and #18 are being real dicks.
18 blowing up stuff 'cus she lost at a video game. (git gud)
And 17 pointing a gun at an old man's face even though he has superpowers.
But before the old man can die, Trunks arrives on the scene!
"Artificial Humans, you fiends! At length, I destroy you, avenging my Master!"
"...the fuck are you talking about? That storyline was cut out of Kai."
"Wait. Is that what it feels like when someone kills a person you love? 'Cus, wow, dude, I am so--"
"Eat shit, jerk for brains!"
Finally, the future is safe from the rampaging 17 and 18. They were alright guys in the main timeline, but they couldn't be in this timeline because then why would we even have this fucking story to begin with.
(I bet it feels warm and safe in Trunks' arms.)
Over the following months, Metro West begins to rebuild, now that the Artificial Humans are gone.
Trunks decides to go back in time to tell everyone about his victory, 'cus, well, he's supposed to I guess for this fucking story to continue.
However, thanks to Piccolo's warning, he's ready for Cell.
"Why you being so weird? Waiting for your girlfriend?"
"No, Toriyama hasn't shoehorned one in yet."
Informed of Cell's plan to kill him, Trunks confronts the monster.
"I've been to the past, Cell. This ends here."
"'I've shmen to the shmast, Shmell. Shmis shmends shmere.' Pff. Dumbass."
Five minutes later...
"... I CAN'T BELIEVE I DIDN'T SEE THIS COMING!"
"Great! Now that the future is free, my story ends. Maybe I'll get me a girlfriend after all. Someone to adventure with in some kind of spin off storyline."
"... no, not her, that's weird. She tried to kill my mom and stuff."
"That's wifey right there."
What's cut?
In DBZ 193, Gohan and Gyumao have more hang time.
Gohan kills the Pee-rodactyl.
And Kame House, Son House, and Capsule House watch Satan's shenanigans on TV.
In DBZ 194, we see Cell up to his usual business before meeting Trunks.
Finally, in DBZ 195 through DBZ 199, Goku participates in the full Anoyo-ichi Budokai.
