Story
Super Saiyan 2 Gohan, having tortured Cell too long instead of actually finishing him off, has lured the newly returned Frog Face into expanding into a giant, apocalyptic kamikaze bomb.
You really fucked up this time, kiddo.
Looking back at his friends, Son Goku makes up his mind.
"Sure enough, no matter how hard I think about it, I can't think of any other way to save Earth."
"You've done well, Gohan."
"F-father...?"
"Tell your mom that I'm sorry. I'm always bein' selfish."
"...!!!"
"Goodbye, Gohan!"
With a final scream of his catchphrase,
Cell, the villain who Gohan fought,
and Gohan's father, Son Goku, vanish from the realm of the living.
Or...
"... Huh. That's weird. We're all dead, but where's Cell's soul?"
"... ah fuck, he ain't dead, is he?"
"..."
"... I'm... alive? And in my Perfect form?"
"And I'm more powerful than ever!!"
"With this new unlimited power..."
"... I can return to Earth, and extract my revenge."
"Get fucked, Trunks."
"That's for being prettier than me."
Cell didn't die. He hadn't planned on it, but by some reverse-miracle, the small nucleus that keeps him regenerating survived his kamikaze attack. Because of his Saiyan DNA, the near-death experience has brought him an instant boost of power, making him as powerful as Son Gohan. In a matter of minutes, a third of the universe's surviving Saiyans are dead, leaving one-third to stand in shock as they gaze upon their assassin. (The other two, Tarble and Baby Trunks, are too weak to do anything to help, anyway.)
Vegeta takes this death particularly difficult.
'Trunks! My son!! What about all those good times we had?!'
'... wait a minute. Am I...? Oh, no.'
"I'M A DEAD BEAT DAAAAAAAAAAAD!!!!!!!"
"WATCH OUT, CELL"
"I CAN'T KICK MY OWN ASS"
"SO I'M GOING TO KICK YOUR ASS MADE UP OF MY ASS INSTEAD!!!"
Despite Vegeta's furious anger, Cell easily pushes him aside, and goes in for the kill. Gohan, unwilling to lose a second dad today, leaps in the way of Cell's blast.
"... I've made a huge mistake."
Crippled, exhausted, and now outmatched, can Son Gohan withstand Cell's mighty Super Kamehameha?
